That’s my prediction. Hillary Clinton is looking for some concessions from Barak Obama and then she will be dropping out of the race. Her 41 point victory in West Virginia gives her a high point on which to withdraw. She can get her campaign debt retired, take the no 2 spot, if she wants it (doubtful), effect changes in Obama’s health care proposal, become a Supreme Court Justice, something.

John Edwards has felt it in the wind. He is giving Obama his endorsement today. Hillary is making moves toward a withdrawal with her conciliatory moves toward Obama and stepped up criticism of McCain.

Within a week, remember where you heard it.

I just saw this item on Yahoo News:

“WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government has injected hundreds of foreigners it has deported with dangerous psychotropic drugs against their will, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing medical records, internal documents and interviews with people who have been drugged.”

Sometimes I feel like I am living in a nightmare. What has come over us?

CNN Politics.com says “Under pressure from some to withdraw from the race, Clinton insists that West Virginina, where only 28 delegates are at stake, is a key state in the fight for the White House. She said again Monday that no Democratic candidate since 1916 has gone on to win the White House without first winning West Virginia. “

Now I don’t have anything against West Virginia. They have some nice mountains there, Berkeley Springs has a good little spa and I’ve enjoyed listening to Mountain Stage on the radio on occasion, even though it’s no Prairie Home Companion.

But come on Hillary, you can’t get to the White House without winning West Virginia? How about Delaware? Rhode Island? American Samoa? This is getting absurd. Lots of white people in West Virginia, though. Gotta have those white people, don’t we?

My buddy, Saxophone Sam, has asked me to sit in on guitar with his band when they play a dance next month because his regular guitarist can’t make it. The only problem is Sam’s band plays a whole lot of jazz standards in keys with lots of flats in them. I’m sitting here trying to remember how to play a Bb7b9 chord.

I’ve started my Spring home improvement project - adding a powder room in a tight little corner of our laundry room. I’ll have to replace about 40 feet of 2″ drain with 3″ and add another vent stack. I did the demolition and framing and then my wife asked me if I didn’t want to put it “over there instead.”

At work, summer camp starts in two weeks and we have a rental group coming in Wednesday that is staying for 10 days and using every square inch of the place. They don’t want us to “disturb” them while they’re here, either. The Fire Marshall is coming to inspect on Tuesday.

Actually, a little bird has been sharing the chemical storage/pump shed at the pool with me. She has been very unhappy whenever I come in to check the dials and test the water, which I do several times a day.

Here is a picture of the pool, the nest is inside the little building. Please don’t be jealous, this pool does not belong to me. One of my many hats is licensed commercial swimming pool operator. I’m getting this one ready for it’s annual pre-opening health department inspection.

Enough is enough, already! I voted for Senator Clinton back in the Maryland primary, when it was still a contest. Now she is running through her - and Bill’s - own money trying to keep a failed candidacy afloat. Her obsessive behavior is damaging the Dems chances in November, her own public image and the country as a whole.

Even Limbaugh, that fat tub of hot air, has come out for Obama, although with the worst of motives, as usual. Hill, wake up and smell the coffee.

Recent news stories about the high price of gasoline have shown that, in the U.S. supply is up, demand is down and prices are on the rise. Why? Speculative investing! Investors are taking their money out of the failing real estate market and parking it in the commodities market - buying oil and oil futures. This has driven the price at the pump up to unprecedented levels as Wall Street looks for the next big windfall. We can expect the housing bubble collapse to be followed by an oil bubble collapse, which should happen soon, as the entire economy is put under more and more stress and people buy less and less.

I didn’t realize that Google does a massive update of page rank every three months or so until I read about it yesterday in Court’s Internet Marketing School. Sensitive bloggers could feel a disturbance in the force as page ranks everywhere rose and fell. I’ve been waiting patiently for Clark’s Picks to rise above a rank of 0 since New Years’ Eve. Yesterday it came in at a 5, whoo hoo! According to Court I should expect to see more Google search traffic starting now.

New blogs are given a 0 page rank when Google first lists them. As time goes by and other blogs link to them (hint hint) their page rank rises according to a mysterious formula known only to Google, but which has something to do with the number of incoming links, the page rank of those sites linking and the age of the links - links over six months old are discounted, multiple links from the same site within the same six month period are counted as just one link and who knows what other arcane rules are applied.

ROTUS stayed the same at 5, btw and I’ll Never Forget The Day I Read A Book rose from a 3 to a 4.

Before going off half cocked condemning Barack Obama for what someone told you that Jeremiah Wright said at the National Press Club, sit down and listen to what he actually said. Here is a link to a video of his entire speech. There is a transcript which includes his remarks in the question and answer period afterward, also.

I would be proud to have Rev. Wright speak in my church. His is a message of inclusion and reconciliation. He is not angry, unpatriotic, racist or any of the other things he is being accused of in various right wing or Clintonista blogs.

Update: Obama has issued a statement calling Wright’s statements “outrageous” and saying “When he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions as the U.S. government somehow being involved in AIDS, when he suggests Minister Farrakhan somehow represents one of the greatest voices of the 20th and 21st centuries, when he equates the United States’ wartime efforts with terrorism — there are no excuses . . .” I must have missed some of that, maybe Wright said some of those things somewhere else. He did make a number of appearances over the weekend.

The urban legend about the government creating AIDS and spreading it among black people has been going around for years. It shows a lack of critical thinking on Wright’s part to repeat it, but also a healthy distrust of government. Wright cites theTuskegee Study as his source for that comment, in the Q&A period at the National Press Club. That studies of the progress of untreated syphilis on black men did continue until 1972. It isn’t AIDS but it sure makes you wonder about the good old US Government.

I see that most of the comments on this post have been favorable toward Wright. It kind of makes me wonder where my readers come from. Nobody wants to argue with me?
